yeah I found a decent thread on fedorsforums about these issues and it seems using AIGLX (the 'radeon' driver) does sometime work with the ATI cards, bit if not, using the fglrx driver with Xgl will work. I would like to try to use AIGLX first though. OK, for anyone elses future reference, the abov...

As far as I know my card supports 3D GL. I ran the desktop-effects binary from cli and this is the error I get when run: [root@localhost eric]# desktop-effects compiz: No GLXFBConfig for default depth, this isn't going to work. compiz: Failed to manage screen: 0 compiz: No managable screens found on...

Interesting... I checked to see if compiz was installed and the system shows it is: [root@localhost ~]# rpm -qa | grep compiz compiz-0.0.13-0.32.20060817git.fc6 But when I try to enable it in Desktop Effects, I get an error that says "Desktop Effects Could Not Be Enabled"? Possibly a video drivers i...

Yeah I got the drivers installed. And yes you did mention third party modules, I guess I just did not think of wireless interface being a third part module. I read on linuxquestions that a user had a similar problem in FC5 with the madwifi drivers and Atheros and it was suspected that SELinux was th...

aha! It would probably help if the actual drivers would have installed: Downloading Packages: warning: rpmts_HdrFromFdno: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 66534c2b Public key for madwifi-kmdl-2.6.18-1.2798.fc6-0.9.3-29_r1754.fc6.at.i686.rpm is not installed I have got to say, I have seen the w...

Nope, no wifi0. Yeah I did reboot after installing the drivers but nothing changed. I ran kudzu -p to see if it would recognize the new hardware and it shows that it already sees it as eth1: class: NETWORK bus: PCI detached: 0 device: eth1 desc: "Atheros Communications, Inc. AR5212 802.11abg NIC" ve...

No wireless on FC6
Just installed FC6 on my Toshiba Sattelite A75 (uses Atheros wireless chipset) and for some reason, the wireless interface was never recognized and configured/installed. Any guidance on how to add a wireless interface and setup wpa-psk encryption? I am afraid I am a complete noob in this arena. I ha...

Well, I'm sitting at work on FC6 right now entering this. I can't say how long it might take you to get it up and running the way you want (if that is even possible) but I didn't spend any time at work installing it, I did it at home. But then I use a laptop at work that I take home at night. I did...

is the "compiz" stuff the rotating desktops? It is nice to see that they implemented this feature. I have always admired this functionality in MAC OS X. Is this distro ready to be run as a stable work environment? Keep in mind that I really do not want to spend a lot of time tweaking it to be stable...

Ok from looking at this pic again: http://usbirboy.sourceforge.net/board_release.jpg It appears that it is actually using a DIP ( Dual Inline Package ) known as a PIC . For this a PIC programmer can be used. This basically what that schematic of the "prommer" is. The Pic programmer can be used to fl...

Yeah it is definately a microcontroller flash kit. If it will work with what you want to do I can not be sure. It does not state what types of MCU's it will flash. It could do PIC's, HC11's, HC12's HC08's, etc. or it may be able to do some or all. Especially for $80.00, I would try to build the one ...
