No Boot on F12, saying something like: xxx already mounted

This is after I had an error on my last boot disk so I 'dd' it to an image then created a new disk(of same size, 200G). Even tried rescue CD(from using the network start disk if that may make any difference) and that said that it can't find any Linux system at all. I got an error at about 137M of th...

...more tests done and still the /dev/sdb/ is OK, but can I really trust it?

Can anyone tell me why it shows no error when I test it and when I do a 'e2fsck -v' WITHOUT '-n' so it can do changes in case there are some, still nothing in those logs and after that, all seems fine.

I finally dared to do the e2fsck with changes and I got the same result... [root@unknown /]# e2fsck -v /dev/sdb e2fsck 1.41.9 (22-Aug-2009) /dev/sdb contains a file system with errors, check forced. Pass 1: Checking inodes, blocks, and sizes Pass 2: Checking directory structure Pass 3: Checking dire...

been snooping around the disks and now it seems that one older 1Tb disk is getting bad blocks. The funny part is that I had the same problem some older 500G HDDs and that was no problem, it just fixed it, as now, and no problem with sabotaging the FAT :(

I reinstalled the whole server and now it works again. This won't be an issue when it's up and running but I didn't have the energy to try to read up on it.
Have no clue what happened since no logs showed me the problem.

Yeah most of the examples I found was used in X applications and for the user only but I need them global (I think) so I can use them in httpd and the web site by using Joomla/VirtuMart. They just won't show up there but I haven't tried to see if I can use it in a "normal" application thou...

How to use ttf fonts in Fedora 12

I tried some different versions that I found by googling but nothing works.
My sis needs this font for their new web site and the logo but I just can't get it to work.
Some of the tries was not system global so that are out of the picture.

Anyone?

Not for me yet. I'm gonna do an upgrade on the server later but my first try with F12 (not on the server though) was so bad that I waited so long that VoidMain almost chewed me head off :P but after I did that it seemed very good with updates added. I think I later a while and at least try it on som...

What's Dogtag Certificate System (DCS)?

It's not the same as creating a certificate that a company uses as verification that it's a legit company, like http://www.verisign.com/
Right?

seemed that the Partition Table was no more... kind of.
I was successful of retrieving the vital data and move that to a new disk.
After that it was OK :)

Something weird happened. The hard disk seemed fine when I made an image of it in a Linux machine that didn't think it was a disk from a raid system. Anyhow, the problem is now fixed and the server is up and running again :) on a new disk that I restored the image on. I wonder why the system made it...
