UPDATE: I found something about the last 'btw' I wrote. Gonna try this later to see if it works If the drive is in a RAID, or if it’s a separate sized drive for a disk upgrade, it’s a good idea to trigger the kernel driver to rescan information about the new disk. In /sys/bus/scsi/devices, youâ€...

Bad boot disk using F12

Last night the boot disk on one of my servers using Fedora 12 seems to have given up :( now I'm trying to read an image from it by using 'dd' and that seems to be able to read the entire disk, but not the partitions. If i use parted i can see the partitions but not when 'ls /dev/sdc*' this is what I...

At the beginning I asked a friend to reply to a test mail I sent him. He did and I got it. Now, nothing at all happens in either firewall log or maillog. Is there a way to trace a mail somehow? I wonder if my ISP has blocked this in anyway and is has something to do with like reading the tcp/ip pack...

Same here, very weird but the important thing is the database itself so it'll do.

I'm back to this problem and googled lots of people with the same problem. I started to think that it's always the socket file that has the problem so I just changed the placement of the database and then it worked. I'm starting to wonder if the socket file can't be placed on another disk/partition ...

oh, hehe. That was just my way not to make you mad since I'm kinda slow :(
I even think that's why I'm losing my job after next week.

I even thought you was away for the weekend and I needed to get this fixed so I had to google trough... I think 50 or 60 pages before I found this, but I did :)

This seems it's gonna take all night even though it's just two 80G HDDs and the array is a mirror. Thought that was like copy 80G of data, like done in 40-50 minutes or so
:(
I'm not gonna be up until 2:30AM tonight :P so Ill have to be back tomorrow, unless something happens.

Just starting the server up again... should be done in about, let's say 10 minutes and I'll open up port 25 to everyone. I shows a bit of the maillog yesterday that I could telnet into it, but when I send an EMail, nothing shows up in the log. UPDATE, I got one bad disk on the RAID1 system, I'll be ...

It's weird that you can't get in, cos the firewall log says it let you in on port 25, well if you IP is: 99..... And about your comment about why having it "closed" if I want a mail server, well I just want to open it up for myself when testing so it won't get hacked or anything while I'm ...
