Re: A way to see if a PC is a laptop or workstation

This seem very interesting :)
thx, I'll have a big look on that as soon as I can.
Do you know if this is a "permanent" thing or just a flux that might change in like a year or so?

If this works, you "saved" my life :)

Re: A way to see if a PC is a laptop or workstation

as the latest news I can find, this is a bug in the late kernel/acpi but from what I've seen don't really know where the "error" is, kernel or acpi. I've been testing my "theory" I said here in my recent post on my new machine but that won't work now since 'acpid' fail to start correctly...... but s...

Re: A way to see if a PC is a laptop or workstation

From about a month ago we've starting to get some DELL Latitude 5420's where the script ( http://voidmain.is-a-geek.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2362&p=16622&hilit=laptop+desktop#p16622 ) looking to see if it's a laptop or desktop stop working. I was googling for it and found that from "now" on th...

I just checked my Fedora 14 system and I have no file called that in /etc/sysconfig/
Haven't check F15 or F16 though

Debugging php/css and etc

Is there a way to debug php/css code remotely? I know there are a addon to firefox but that seem to just work on "pure" php and can't handle the rest of the code (or I can't use it correctly) If I get a whole forums code/database from a site to my own server I want to make changes and debug that eas...

Re: variables in iptables?

Well that I, hehe, don't even know what is :P
I've learned to use this since I started with RedHat 9 and have used that since.
This makes it easy to transport it to other machines too :P

But do please tell me what "inside" means

Android Apps: dhcp client

I've been looking for a way to easily check the IP on a TP outlet and was off course thinking of android. Instead of taking, as we do know, a laptop and connecting that, I was wondering if there is a way to use an Android mobile and some sort of cable/app for that. Like a TCP/IP <-> USB converter an...

Re: variables in iptables?

Yes you can :) and that's cos iptables is cool. It sure makes the rules easier to read. I have a few and here's and example (taken from: http://www.tweako.com/iptables_explained_part_1_a_tutorial_to_understanding_and_creating_your_own_rules) #/bin/sh #variables first! ipt="/sbin/iptables" std_ports=...
