I don't like aRts either (it will probably be removed in KDE4).
If you need multiple sound streams, you can use Dmix for that.

I am trying to install my nVidia dual head card and that seems to be failing. It says there is no kernel source. I have a fairly new video card and it worked with FC 4. did they put the kernel source in there and if so, where? As posted on the first page, the kernel-devel package doesn't come with ...

Well, it gave me the same warnings. The package it was looking for is "gstreamer-tools", After installing this all went fine.

PS: Thanks :)

Wow, that is weird

Still haven't installed it myself... (I want the DVD).

From what I've read on "testing", the kernel-headers should still be in the kernel-devel packages. But that wouldn't work for Nvidia without a patch either(unless they fixed that last week). Their seems to be a problem with the Xorg version, needing an extra patch(xorg-x11-drv-nvidia and nvidia-kmod...

Already, v8 is available for Windows and OSX. How long until Flash is available for Linux? Who knows, could be forever. Their will not be an 8.0 version for Linux. Linux support will restart from 8.5 (the next version): http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=581&thr...

rpmforge-release

It looks like RPMforge is almost getting ready. Instead of preconfigured Apt packages, they now seem to provide one package(rpmforge-release) including Apt, Smart and Yum and all configurations. http://rpmforge.net/user/packages/rpmforge-release/ They also recommend Smart over Apt. As for compatibil...

Thanks (again). I took your file since that source file gave me dependency problems. "http://newrpms.sunsite.dk redhat/en/i386/fc4/newrpms pkglist" doesn't seem to work anymore though... PS: Could it be that they still not fully support FC4? Non of their(DAG, Dries, FresRPMS) FAQs or HOWTOs seem to ...

How should my sources.list look for Dag, Dries and Freshrpms in Core 4?

Oh well, for now, I'll just keep restarting X after using anOpenGL game in GNOME(I almost never do anyway...). Someone also told me this might be either GNOME or/and XFree86(highly patched by Debian) related, so I might consider using backports for X.org and a new GNOME version(seems that older ubun...

OpenGL/resolutions problem.

I just placed a 3D card(FX5700) in my stable Debian box. All went well, till I closed an OpenGL game(Wolfenstein ET). It stays in a lower resolution, showing only a part of my GNOME desktop. GNOME itself gets fixed if I log out and in again, but GDM and Blackbox remain in this lower resolution(only ...

I see what the problem is now. It appears that Dag doesn't have all of his packages built for FC4 yet and I did an "upgrade" so MPLayer was upgraded but I still have the FC3 versions of aalib, lirc, and lzo. You should be able to install the FC3 versions of those for now: http://dag.wieers.com/pack...
