Re: is SSH really bad?

Yeah, I don't get it either. ssh is about as secure as it gets (as long as it's configured securely as mentioned). You could go completely key based and not allow any password logins. That would be even more secure.

Re: is SSH really bad?

I can't imagine he would have had a problem with it in a security context especially if your ssh ports are restricted using iptables. The only thing I can imagine is if your ports are open to the world you expose yourself to a brute force login attempts that could allow login to an account if a pass...

Re: Ubuntu destroyed my youth.

I think what he's saying is Ubuntu works "too well" so people don't get as much of a chance to learn by having to make things work. :) And X11, Microsoft isn't banned on these forums because it is "easy", it is banned because i...

Re: IPv6

I'm not very versed in IPv6 myself yet so I would suggest searching Google for now. I do need to become proficient in IPv6 soon however.

Re: Board upgrade

Not sure if I am going to change it from the default. It's a pain in the ass to upgrade when you start using custom themes I have found, especially when you add a few mods.

IPv6

If you don't know it now you need to learn it. The sooner the better.

Re: Board upgrade

Find a theme you like and I will implement it and make it a default. Here is one of many theme sites and something along the lines of what I had:

Re: Board upgrade

Yeah, I can always theme it up. Just figured I would get up to phpbb3 so the bots can hit it.

Board upgrade

Well, I upgraded the board. I still have a lot of bugs to work out but at least we're on the latest phpBB.

Control MythTV with your Android phone

MythDroid is pretty darn cool: http://code.google.com/p/mythdroid/ I set it up last night to control two of my MythTV frontends. It's far better than the regular remote control. I think the site has dropped out of Google. I should probably upgrade it to the latest phpBB. It's still running on 2.x. I think 3.x is a lot more bot friendly.
