None of them say anything concrete becuase at this point, there isn't. There hasn't even been a conclusive scientific study into the effects of Mobile Phones. I guess you are entitled to wory, but until somone can tell us one way or the other what the effects are then there is not much you can do. T...

Bash & sed issue

I'm having trouble getting a bash script to properly evaluate a sed command, with an embedded bash variable. What I was is for bash to call the following: sed 's/ xyz / abc $VAR def /g' xyz is a (static) pattern to match abc,def are arbitary (static) characters, as part of my replace $VAR is the var...

I think you need to make the user and group numbers match.

But could you post the mount options it is using also?

Onto technical things: I'm not sure it will ever work well on a WRT's memory footprint, but here goes. I got mysql to successfuly configure on my emulated MIPS. I'm wondering where to go from here: A) Compile it on the same machine. This could take a long time, emulation is slow. -or- B) Transfer th...

Wow, apparently I haven't been keeping up on the latest WRT happenings. How did I miss this little gem?!? I have 3 WRT54G and 1 WRT54GS boxes but a USB port would open up so many more possibilities! Has anyone booted Debian on one of these devices? I use OpenWRT on all my current WRTs. I wonder if ...

Re: Snort on Linksys WRT54G Wireless Router Help

Original Post Void, is this issue still open? I'd be interested in helping. The reason being i'm looking to get an OpenWRT router setup myself (a WRTSL54GS if I can get one imported). So, there are ulterior motives, but i'm here to help! I have got Debian Etch (MIPS Little-endian) running under QEM...

The problem I ran into was that Fedora ships with some sort of GNU java compatibility gubbins that doesn't really work as it should. What I had to do was install Sun's proper JRE, then go find 'azureus'. By azureus I mean the actual script that launches azureus, I guess you have it at /usr/bin/azure...

Void and I briefly discussed ext3 reserved space over on this thread: http://voidmain.is-a-geek.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1491 I find it pretty ridiculous that ext3fs uses(loses) so much space, but i've played it safe due to the links from the thread I linked. Also in a filesystem review I read rec...

Given the chipset model can you find any updated firmwares?
I know with earlier chips some manufacturers employed a bit of a bodge of 48bit LBA and this may be causing issues with the linux driver subsystem. Just a thought.

Too bad about Gnome being dropped from the Slackware system. Most of the window managers out there are too sparse for my tastes. And KDE looks like an elementary school computer. Now that I have X working, it's going to take a few more weeks just to find some sort of graphical environment that I ca...
