IMO: "Portage" and "Apt" are not the future... Care to share on what the future is? I have tried to install Gentoo, but I keep getting lost, its taking too long, and I don't know how far I am from the end, its doing my head in, I really do have a serious headache from this now! I want a distro that...

Ok not sure if I am back on track now, I took a breather then looked again and it seemed to make a bit more sense. I thought it is best if I say that as of now, I think I am back on the track to installing Gentoo (although I would still like some none Red Hat or Debian based distros to try) Cheers D...

Gentoo - why is it so much effort to install?

Hi there. As I said recently I had a hard drive failure on my Fedora machine, and after a bit of time I have finally received a working HDD (the ebuyer returns dept working overtime to get it out that fast) I decided I wanted to try something new, I really like Fedora, its definately my favourite so...

Ok have been told now:
If you turn expose_php = off in the php.ini, it wont show.
The default is on, so it shows, just like you can attach a little string to show the phpinfo without actually calling phpinfo(); in a php file.

This PHP hack works on loads of sites - but not here?

Are you sure it's not a script-based thing? I've been to adult sites before where they throw script-bombs at you, assuming that you are using IE, because IE will take those scripts and run them, installing agents and spyware and active cookies and all that crap. Usually, Firefox can just ignore the...

Cool, I didn't realise you could do that, I have just made the changes, uploaded it and it works - Perfect! I thought something as powerful (at least appears to be powerful) as this would need to be installed. I just got to figure out the security part of it now. The host that uses phpMyAdmin has it...

Thanks for your suggestions, I think I will go for phpMyAdmin. Another host of mine has phpMyAdmin connected to the account control panel, and yes this tool is very good, so I think I will go that way eventually. As for now, I have just downloaded and tried the MySQL administrator, currently I have ...

Suggestions for a MySQL database manager

One of the tools I still use on my Windows machine is a program called dbtools

This allows me to login to my hosts DB server so that I can add, edit, remove or backup my data/database.

Can anyone suggest a good alternative that I can use with FC?

Thanks

Thanks for the superfast reply. I do have version 1.02 of FF. The only extension I have is the SWF one, I will disable it, but like i said the carshes are to random to narrow down to a plugin especially as I rarely go on pages that have Flash anyway (unless its in a banner of course.) But thanks for...

How do I troubleshoot Firefox - I think it keeps crashing

Ok I am not really sure what the problem is, so I don't know how to describe it, or what I should be looking for to help me trouble shoot. This is what happens: For no apparent reason, at completely random intervals my Firefox will just close itself. At first I thought it was just a glitch - a one o...

Very nice.

I tried a couple of other web sites also.

I am guessing by the results, that you are getting the "I'm feeling lucky" google search as you pretty much go to the first site in a google search.

Hello. Ok, I copied your script to a file called runwebalizer in the folder /home/me/webalizer But i can't run the next part, as apparently there is no crontab for me: [me@Eval01 ~]$ crontab -l | grep webalizer no crontab for me I meant to ask you about that the other day, for now I have been having...
