Fresh install Ubuntu - No GUI or network

Hi, I am trying to install Ubuntu on a machine at my home. The install appeared to have worked through OK with no problems, other than a message about eth0 Something along the lines of eth0 has not been correctly setup, would you like to setup eth0 manually or wait for ubuntu to reboot. I chose to w...

can I just confirm that with xen you can run 2 seperate OS's at the 'exact' same time on one machine? For example using *BSD for low level network stuff, routing etc AND running FC as a workstation or maybe server at the 'exact' same time? I just can't get my head around this, does the machine boot ...

As of this moment in time, my wireless card etc is working fine. My original post was because I didn't know if I was going at the kernel source install the right way, or perhaps I was taking steps that I did not need to make. It seems everytime they release a new kernel, I have to go through the ker...

I would like to know more about your wireless card and the instructions you are using. Maybe I will spot something and make some recommendations. Maybe even build the necessary RPMs for you (if possible and if they don't already exist). Don't worry about the experience points thing, that's not why ...

yes I was talking in regards to FC4, it was on the page that you originally linked too.

Thanks for the follow up link, sounds unreal, sounds impressive, but I can't actually imagine how it could do what they say it does/will.

I have a head ache now.

Help with Kernel source build, install ...

I have asked this question at another site, just in case you think your having a bit of deja vu. ------------------------------------ Ok, I have currently got a working install, my source is there, and my wireless card (which I neede the source for) is working perfectly. Like the sound of a faster boot up, I think it is a bit of a joke, my pretty standard fedora install takes loads longer than my Windows XP machine to boot up.

Code: Select all

- Xen and Virtualization

This starts by integrating the Xen kernel stuff, and going
from there.
what the hell is that on about?
