Void Main, what I want you to do is completely mess with the people at netcraft. All you have to do is raise your uptime to be higher than that of the highest server there. Then declare to everyone, including the people at netcraft what you did. By the way change your server signature back to linux ...

I find it annoying that people will go to school and study to be programmers, and get out of school and be so focused on MS products, like .NET and C# that they dont even realize that there are other platforms out there other than MS. My personal experience studying to be a programmer, Ive met many ...

But ogle is so choppy. I like the fact it supports menus and that getting encrypted DVD's to play was easy(however illegal in the US), but the choppiness sucks.

You think you had a bad day? I guarantee mine was worse. First of all. I have a college degree in computer science, yet I can't find an IT job that pays enough to make rent. So Im forced to work at wal-mart just to make ends meet. I unload trucks, yeah what a great job for a computer geek. Not only ...

Problems with URPMI

Back in December I updated my packages on my webserver including an update for the program URPMI, which is the update program itself. Since then however I have been unable to use URPMI to make updates to my system. A list of ftp servers that are available to download updates from will appear, but af...

I don't believe any of the HTML standards require <META> tags (maybe XML/XHTML does, not sure). I can understand the need for <HEAD> tags even in framed pages (actually frames are not allowed in many standards, correct me if I am wrong). Actually, my page was not valid html transitional until I inc...

Ive seen this happen before. Im guessing that the servers that store the uptime statistics are down temporarily. Last time this happened it was just for a couple of days. Of course void main I will be upset if your cheating caused this. My uptime on Netcraft is legitimate. A true 81 days on my webse...

Doctype override?

This isnt quite programming, but I thought Id ask here anyway. Ive been working on making my page validate under the w3c rules. The problem is that it only is tentatively validates right now and I cant figure out how to make it validate. I get this message: * DOCTYPE Override in effect! Any DOCTYPE ...

Slackware 8.1 Sound Problems

Im in a question asking mood so here goes. I installed Slackware 8.1 on my laptop and have found that the sound was not configured automatically when I installed like it was when I installed Red Hat 8.0, and Mandrake 9.0. How would I go about configuring sound in Slackware?
