Autoupdate for slackware.

AutoPKG 0.5.4 (Stable)
http://freshmeat.net/releases/110668/

AutoPKG lets you keep your Slackware system up to date. It functions

Cool, I'd really be interested to know if he comes up with a solution to the problem.
It'd be really great to get apt-rpm working well for Mandrake too.

Calum, maybe you could send him an e-mail. I mean, it seems he gets quite some respect and consideration in the Mandrake community and I came accross a post of his where he actually asks for some feedback on how his apt port works for Mandrake. Perhaps if you explained your problem he could provide ...

Instead of dooing a Dist Upgrade why don't you select Upgrade plain and simple, then you can browse through the updates and select whatever you want. Anyway, that's how I do it with red hat, I don't see the need to upgrade things like Kpaint and stuff like that .... And when there are important upda...

http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=HP-DeskJet_952C Notes The best output one gets with HP's HPIJS 1.3 or newer. If you cannot update to HPIJS 1.3 for some reason, you can also use HPIJS 1.2.2 with the patches from Matthias Bunte and Richard Spencer-Smith ("hpijs-rss"). The GIMP-Pri...

k3b setup - mkisofs question

When I run the k3b setup it lists everything ok, both my Lite On DVD and Plextor Writer are recognized, no problem with mkisofs, cdrecord or cdrdao. I click finish and k3b tells me that it saves the config and is ready for use now. I start and when I go into configuration I see "Reader" and "Writer"...

run lsmod as root, this will give you a list of all the drivers which are loaded.
I think if the sound modules begin with -snd you are using Alsa.

I don't mean to nitpick here but in the part where you mention kino (in the Mandrake tip) you cite Red Hat repositories rpm http://kino.schirmacher.de/ redhat/8.0/en/i386 kinorpms rpm-src http://kino.schirmacher.de/ redhat/8.0/en/i386 kinorpms It might be better to remove those entries unless you wa...

nah, posted too quickly, didn't notice the "deb" in front of the url

I found references to an apt repository for SuSE though, this would mean that there is an apt-rpm version for SuSE too, wouldn't it?

I'm feeling kinda stupid now.
I just thought I'd try something, and sure enough when I moved my mouse near the lower edge of the screen I saw a double arrow telling me that there was something to enlarge.
Now I've got the tabs back, but I can't remember doing anyting to minimize them?!

I installed the new interface last week but so far I liked the old one better. I liked the fact that there were tabs with a general description and dependencies. The odd thing is that I think I remember having those tabs in the new version too but on the lower side of my screen, anyway they're gone ...
