it shipped with 4.0 but updates took it to 4.1 .. used neither to configure .. both displays picked up by nvidia config ( using dual head nvidia card with nvidia drivers) .. no manual config done for GNOME

KDE 4.x in fedora 9

this is partly to answer a question and partly to see if anyone is still reading out there. i'm using foedora9 on a dual head system at home and KDE 4.X muti - display support blows .. my primary screen is fine but secondary just shows background image not usable desktop and the ability under KDE3.5...

nope he has just one system but this is one of the things holding him back from converting it from windoze to linux , will suggest the dual boot with minimal windoze config

He has a ATI All-In-Wonder 9800 video card and uses Ulead Movie Creator anyone have good suggestions for linux equivalent he can use .. he is tired of cleaning junkware off his wife's system

i setup kmail for the same account and see everything .. but tbird still shows empty inbox .. even new different copy of tbird .. very weird

also in squirelmail i can read email in other folders than inbox or mail that came before this stared on the 2nd with no problems

Q1) How do you know there is mail in the Inbox that isn't being displayed in Thunderbird, are you editing the file directly with VIM or some other editor? but yet there is mail in /var/spool/mail/$USER that does not show in T-bird and in squirrelmail is listed but can't be read

after more investigation i have found that mail gets to var/spool/mail/<user> but not into /home/<user>/mail/Inbox

any ideas?

mbox vs. maildir

I run a IMAPS server and I have one user who keeps getting his mailbox corrupted. I currently use a MBOX format and it has been suggested that i go to maildir for more robust mailboxes.. thoughts? also if i convert I could use some help on how to do so on live box with no loss of mail but some downt...
