I think I'll look for another GeForce PCI card on the cheap so I can just plug it in and go.

One thing that did surprise me is that until I uninstalled my old nVIDIA driver and installed the newest one is that it didn't work well at all! X would come up, but no 3D accelleration and when I tried to quit X, I had a hard crash :-(

The newest driver fixed everything though. I thought that it would be a plug-and-go operation too.

Anyway, I'm glad that my experience proved helpful to you... for a change :-)

Well, went out and picked up a Geforce4 so my machine is back in business. Of course I couldn't walk out without picking up another 120GB drive and a DVD burner. :) Now I have to figure out how to fill out the stupid rebate forms.
