tv tuner card

Postby Stryker » Fri Jun 11, 2004 12:36 am

I just got a tv tuner card today, pluged it in and was happy to see that kudzu detected and installed it just fine. So I started up xawtv and saw static, I went into the settings and changed it from PAL to NTSC and set the channel table to us-cable. I started flipping through the channels and all of them are the same guy standing there on a podium with an extremely staticy image. I tried replacing the cable but got the same results. Is there some extra step to configuring a tv tuner card that i'm missing? what should I do?

for anyone else who runs into this problem, turns out that bttv was automatically up but tuner.o wasnt. So I have to manually do: modprobe tuner type=5

You could add that to the end of your /etc/rc.d/rc.local file. Not the prettiest but it would save you from having to load it manually.
