FC2 kernel 2.6.6-1.435 is out - fixes some of my problems

# apt-get install kernel#2.6.6-1.435

After installing the new kernel I am happy to say that I can install my madwifi wireless drivers and not have the laptop lock up like it would with the original FC2 kernel. Before I had to load the modules manually after booting. Yes! In addition to this I notice that the 1394 (firewire) modules are compiled in which I assume means that they must now work (not lock the system on boot). Time to update the desktop machine and check out the video camera via firewire.

Only thing left that needs fixing are the nVidia drivers. I've been waiting patiently for them to get a new build out that works with the new kernels and the 4k stacks. It's a little disappointing they still don't have drivers available (wish they would open them up so we can get a lot more people on the task). I just bought a new nVidia card right before upgrading from FC1 to FC2 (worked great under FC1). Oh well, I don't play games anyway so it's not really a big deal for me.
