yum update then hangs on reboot

yum update then hangs on reboot

I made an update today again and since I got a new kernel the other day I rebooted, but now it just hangs on GRUB Loading Stage2...
Anyone knows what to do?

been googling but havent seen anything I kinda like

Do you ever get to the grub menu with the choice of kernels? Sounds like you might have to boot into rescue mode (from install/rescue CD/DVD), mount the file systems when it asks and then run /sbin/grub-install /dev/sda. Not sure why grub would have gotten horked up though.

No I don't get any menu it just hangs after I get that text.
I tried what you told me and it says:

/sbin/grub: Not found.
but I can see it in the /sbin directory.


UPDATE: As I mounted the sysimage and tried this it took me a whole day to figure it out lol
As I stand in the /mnt/sysimage dir. I chrooted this directory and after that the grub-install worked :)
It's up and running again

Is this the greatest place in the universe for Linux help or what? :P

Man I'm sorry, forgot to tell you to chroot /mnt/sysimage!!

If I recall I believe it actually now might say to chroot after mounting sysimage to work on the system when booting in rescue mode. Could be wrong.
