Webcam in Linux

Post by X11 » Fri Jan 24, 2003 6:16 am

I have a SiPix StyleCam Deluxe (not suppoted in Gtkam:( )

But it also works as a webcam, i dont know much about Webcams in Linux so i dont know where to start.

Specs on camera (for gloating):
16mb of SDRAM to hold pics (not bad, until your batteries go flat)
It has a flash.
1280x1024 max resolution (The camera has 3 modes, The highest Quality is uncompressed 1280x1024, the medium quality is compressed 1280x1024, and the lowest is compressed 640x512).
Can record 80 minutes of audio
Can record 1:21 of video.
It costed $200 AUD ($100 USD) which was a bargain.

You can see a smaller model on http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/electronic/5c79/

I was going to get that but the stall at the market had the model i got (from cristmas money) and it was better so i got it.

I am uploading an image of me taking a photo (i used a mirror).
