ntsysv vs. chkconfig

Hi All,

This is a bit of an unusual question from me, normally more of a command line user than a GUI person, but I've been playing with the 'ntsysv' command lately rather than using chkconfig for some things. For example, I just used ntsysv to disable "hpoj" rather than using chkconfig on my FC1 install.

Is there any advantage, for very simple, routine enabling/disabling of services, of using chkconfig over ntsysv? I do understand that there is a lot more flexibility to do more things with chkconfig, but it seems that ntsysv is a little used and very simple way for users to enable/disable services that nobody ever seems to talk much about. Just wondering if there is a good reason for this.

It's just another utility to do the same thing. There is also the Red Hat X utility called redhat-config-services.
