Nvidia Linux Drivers help

Postby Copperhead » Thu Jan 08, 2004 10:49 pm

I just installed the latest versions of the Nvidia Linux drivers on my Fedora Core 1 box. I followed all of the instructions on thier README, and set everything up accordingly, but it takes like 15 minutes for the driver to load and get me to the login prompt. Is this normal or is there a workaround? My card is an Nvidia GeForce 3 64MB.

No that is not normal. It should take no longer to load than it did before installing the driver. I can't use the later drivers on my GeForce 2. I found them to be unstable in any version of Red Hat or Fedora (I suspect probably other distros as well). I personally use the v4363 drivers and they work perfectly for me. I suspect you have another problem though by the sounds of it.
