that was a good read.

i am perfectly willing to believe that *BSD systems are sounder or better than *Linux systems, even, but the article succinctly points out the one reason why *BSD isn't used by very many people.

This is a great shame in my opinion, i think diversity is a good thing in the open source software arena, and i think that just because programmers don't always have good business accuity, that's a heartbreaking reason for something like BSD to fall by the roadside.
