Plus the way it's configured you don't have the root password so you can't really dig in deep and make changes wherever you want to ...
So today I wiped the drive clean and installed Sidux using their live-usbstick installer.
In less than 15 minutes I had a fully operational netbook and I could use apt with it
I think I just turned a pretty accessory into something I will be able to really use
