SSH

Post by Doogee » Fri Apr 11, 2003 7:25 pm

Ok i dunno if this should be in networking or not, but im putting it here, move it if you think it should be moved v0d mi4n.

Okay i just got ssh running, i set up a pinhole on the router and everything, and my friend was able to log into an account i created for him.

I am interested in giving a few of my friends shell accounts.

What i am worried about is security. Is the sshd that comes with slack OpenSSH? If not should i get openssh? how about upgrades where can i get these?

Anything else security wise i should be thinking about and acting upon?

Thanks.

Un-suid everything you can and limit resources so they won't take your whole computer down with a simple shell script, for starters.

Disabling ping, nmap, etc. would also be a good idea.
