hi. i have fedora rc4 and it has alsa installed from the ccrma apt repository, all going great. soundcard is an SB Live! now, i have a ton of recordings that i want to record via the mic socket of my sound card. Is there a way to do it?
I do have audacity installed but it keeps crashing and i am loath to try and fix it. Somebody said to try gramofile, but i can only find a mandrake rpm for it and do not have much faith in it working right if i install it from source (yes i am now an rpm wuss)
i know vsound is incredibly useful for recording the output from a program, but in this case i am not using a program to play the sound, i am using a tape recorder through a lead into the mic socket. is it possible to use vsound for this (as i would like)? vsound's documentation is slim to nonexistent unfortunately or i would probably find it a much more useful tool than i do now...
