Buffalo Technologies LinkStation HD-HLAN 160 GB NAS

Calling all hackerz,

I just got the new Buffalo LinkStation 160 GB Network Attached Storage (NAS). From my initial understanding, LinkStation has a Linux-based kernel, have anyone tried to re-flash the firmware to include a sshd or telnetd? The only sites I can find are mostly in Japanese.

Have you tried the OpenWRT forums?

Didn't think it was appropriate in the OpenWRT forums, but I'll try there also.

Thanks.

I believe I have already seen talk on OpenWRT on that unit (or a similar one). I'm assuming it runs an embedded Linux like OpenWRT and not a full distro right?
