mapping protocol to application

at work i have converted from windoze to FC6 however my job requires me to remote desktop into windoze servers and ssh( putty) into redhat servers .. how can i associate the remote desktop app with telnet ( i know it doesn't make sense but the remote desktop links in our internal site show as telnet links) and putty wiht the ssh link. The behavior i'm trying to configure is when i click on a ssh or telnet call in our web site it brings up the correct server via putty or remote desktop. we have thi8s in windoze via a homemade internal app but i wan this feature in linux.

help please

thanks that gets me close to what i need it brings up the app i choose in this case krdc or tsclient .. but i can't seem to get the options right somehow our home brewed windoze app passes the ip to the correct application but i can't seem to duplicate this wiht the command line options for either app
