OK, back in business
*Well, Evolution worked, now what can I look for*
As I was looking again through the settings in OE I found a place:
"My Server requires authentication", Just to test I ticked it and clicked the "Settings" button that came enabled.
I filled in user and password and tried again to sync the folders.
I had to write my accounts password, even though I filled it in authenication, and it worked
The only problem right now is the Secure Password Authentication.
I thought, Why did I have to give the password again when I filled it in the authenication settings, so I removed the auth. and tested again and it still worked.
Hmm, is wouldn't work yesterday...
I restarted OE and it worked, I restarted the server and it worked.
Wierd!!
but now as I think of it, I can't be sure that I even tested OE when I finally started dovecot
ok, now when all this works, *kneels before the Linux God*
What should I backup?
I understand the dovecot conf, local-host-names and sendmail.mc, also the ~/mail directory(and sub dirs) of the accounts, but this is it, right?
well at least for the mail system.
I was also thinking of creating an image of the entire disk/system when it's all done, can I also ask how I do this so I just can insert a DVD(or more than one) and it boots on it and maybe asking me(or I do it manually) to start recreating the disk from the image.
PS. Thanks a million for all your help, where can I send the toaster you just won, lol
