safe free mp3s

my wife got a mp3 player for Christmas .. her laptop runs ubuntu .. she has a windoze desktop .. need suggestions for how she can download mp3s for free without using limewire on windoze ,, any ideas?

If you are talking about illegal music this is the wrong place to ask. I rip all my music from CDs I already own to put on my MP3/Ogg player and phone. If I don't have it and it's just one song I want I get the non-DRM MP3s from Amazon for under a buck each. If you are talking about music that artists put out there for free I'm not sure anymore. My old band put our album out on mp3.com back when they were still doing that sort of thing. I just did a search and found one of many that has collected lists to legally free downloads:
