Postby SuSELinux » Sun Aug 31, 2003 9:12 pm

Admins feel free to move this topic, I thought it was the best place, but hey.

I have a Logitech corldless keyboard and mouse, it works fine wheel mouse and all

but does anyone know if there is a way to use the other buttons (multimedia, sleep, email etc.) in Linux (SuSE Linux, though that really dosen't matter)

I heard that with the right version of Xfree86 you can use SOME of theses buttons

can anyone help me?? thanks !

you could use lineak, an open source attempt to recreate the software that keyboard vendors make (for windows only) when they release their extra keys keyboards, here's a page describing the different approaches you could take, i have not tried any of these. i have a compaq easy access keyboard which has 8 extra buttons and i once thought about using lineak to sort them out, but i never got round to it and i never missed those keys.
