Audio conversion

Postby Ice9 » Thu Dec 18, 2003 8:33 am

A while ago I started to convert many of my cd's to .ogg files, stored them on a computer and play them all from there, nice and easy.
Now I'd like to make some compilations to listen to while I'm in the car but I don't know of any conversion program from .ogg to .wav and didn't find any online (except for Micro$haft would-be OS'es).
Does anyone know about such software?

Thanks.

k3b will write it straight to cd for you, without you looking for conversion tools.

the xmms Disk Writer output plugin will also convert them to WAVs for you in a GUI way.

when i need to do this, i use the xmms disk writer output plugin, however it would be nice to see a command line way or two of doing it.

As, you request:

mplayer example.mp3 -vc dummy -vo null -ao pcm -waveheader -aofile example.wav

As always with Linux there's a million other ways to do it, but that's the one I always remember.
