MRTG on a WRT54gs

Postby ZGamer » Thu Mar 31, 2005 11:03 am

I've notice on this site that MRTG with RRDTool is setup, is this running on a wrt54g/gs? if so how did you do it? I would like to set it up on my wrt54gs which is currently running OpenWRT but am unsure as to how to set this up.

I do have MRTG running with RRDtool but the RRD graphs for my WRT54G are actually in Cacti which doesn't really have anything to do with MRTG. Of course I could have graphed my router with MRTG had I wanted to. I would suggest using Cacti though as it's point+click graph creation that is as simple as it gets. Just install netsnmp on your router and query it using Cacti.

You can get Cacti from http://www.cacti.net/ and you can get the netsnmp ipkg from my ipkg directory:

I would suggest looking at my INSTALL document to install the netsnmp-static package:
