wag54g seems dead

Postby Tveer » Wed Jul 06, 2005 11:18 am

Linksys WAG54G V2
Tried to update firmware, did it wrong and now the wag54g doesn't respond. The green light (power) is blinking and that's all. Ping gives 4 x time out, no connection to server possible. Tried it wired and wireless.
tried to reset it. no effect. Tried to update the right firmware. no effect of course......

Probably because i used US-firmware on a european product (Dutch/Holland/Amsterdam???). I'm rather new in the wireless world....

Now i read the issue about the wrt54g revival on
http://voidmain.is-a-geek.net/redhat/wr ... vival.html

Any ideas about how to get in contact with the wag54g again without having to open it?

If not, can i do the same trick with the wag54g as was done with the wrt54g?

I have no idea if it would work or not. I only have a WRT54G. Sorry.

For those who are interested: I just openend the wag54g-eu v2 Annex A and found out that there's no chip inside with the text "flash"on it. And there's also no chip inside with numbers next to it.

So that's it. Mine is becoming a black and blue paper weight........

You might look over this:

Also post your question on the OpenWRT forums. You never know, someone might have a suggestion that works:
