well, i actually expected you to say that, although i haven't been to north or south america, and have less idea of current culture than residents would. yes, though i have to let you know that in britain, CeNsOrEd is right up there with oops, CeNsOrEd, CeNsOrEd and CeNsOrEd. i wasn't just making a point about the swear filter, i was genuinely surprised that CeNsOrEd is notable by its omission at being censored. also, i don't think american CeNsOrEd should have to change the name himself, i think the swear filter should do it for him.
for example, my msn login name has a swear word in it (yes i know there is a lot wrong with that statement, but not all of my friends have non msn chat accounts, and anyway how is siding with AOL or yahoo any better than using msn anyway?) and on another forum (where i am a moderator!) the forums actually put asterisks into my msn name in my profile! those intrusive CeNsOrEd!
i actually did think that CeNsOrEd is an ok word to use in your living room void main, because to get to your living room i would have to fly right into your territory, same as by flying into australia you are virtually flying into a country where you are expected to swear while exchanging pleasantries (from my experience).
as to the date, the reason i never mentioned it before is because i myself personally don't actually care about swearing. now i am very conscious that i have hijacked not one but two threads that were about totally unrelated things to swearing, so i am really sorry about that and i do want to stress that for me, it's a huge non-issue but just to let you know void main, yes people who may get your site in their english living rooms will probably be highly offended by the word CeNsOrEd (no word of a lie), though in my opinion life is too short. this is probably true of a lot of words though, which is why i think you are facing a losing battle. for example i heard that in some parts of the US crap is offensive! that is ridiculous! here it's considered about as offensive as the word pants.
while i do try not to offend people with my language and i am completely capable of not swearing, my personal opinion of people who take things like this to heart (without devoting any of their attention to real problems like poverty, bigotry, fascism and corruption) is... fsck 'em all!
and i'm sorry if i offended anyone by saying it!
edit: fscking hell voidmain! i just noticed that some of the swear words i use as examples in this post don't get flagged by your swear filter! i didn't expect that, but i will leave them in because this way you can see which words might cause an issue in the future. also, i suspect the possibility of impressionable young minds visiting this forum in the next couple of hours before you read this is slim.
