I know politics aren't allowed on this forum, so delete this if you must...

Everyone of legal age in the United States, please exercise your right to vote. I could care less who you vote for, since it's your choice, not mine. But a vote for Mickey Mouse is better than no vote at all. Make a decision. Although it doesn't seem like your vote can make a difference, it can. No singular vote is going to tip the scales, but a lot of singular votes can. Vote!

You are right in that I do not allow politics and I will let this one slip by for a couple of reasons. 1) you didn't endorse or flame any one side and 2) you are right that it is very important. I will definitely be voting as is my wife. This time we are both voting for the same person unlike last time. :) So yes, go out and vote. If you haven't already registered then it's probably too late to register but I think there are ways you can still vote. Check locally.

Yep. Not trying to start a huge discussion.

Is true all over the world in any situation where you are allowed to vote.

BUT remember a spoilt vote increases the voter percentage.
Nobody cares to state how many votes was spoilt - but only say
"we got the majority vote of xx% of possible voters".
So this is actually much worst as it then becomes part of the counted
majority by virtue of giving it better credibility.

Also remember that not voting or spoiling a vote stops you from
participating in any discussions etc. regarding the outcome!

Just to expand a little on what I had eluded to before. If you didn't register to vote and still want to vote, you can. From what I understand just show up at your polling place and check the registration list. If you are not on it you should be able to fill out a "provisional ballot". I believe these ballots are not counted unless an election is close enough that the number of provisionals could effect the outcome. So your vote is still just as important as any other. Also, if there are errors in your registration information (name spelled wrong) it is my understanding that you will also fill out one of these provisional ballots instead of the normal vote.

Good thing in my country, they havent made it compulsary to vote. Cause I've never voted. What is the point? What happens when the votes are fixed? Who is responsible? Tooo much of money changing hands....

they should make it compulsory to vote in every democracy. it really does get people off their behinds and excercising their right to vote. if the majority of a country (or state or county or whatever) don't vote, then it makes a farce of the "results". i was very impressed that they make people vote in australia, or give them a fine (a small fine, but it really does work as an incentive).
