Darn Powercuts!

Postby Tux » Wed Dec 08, 2004 10:27 am

Grrr,
Two momentary power blips have just culled the uptime on my fileserver from about a year down to 36mins!
The first one made me forget where I was browsing when my desktop rebooted, the second made me have to go to the shop to buy fuses. and it set all the house alarms in the area going... that was torture enough.

I think it was the workmen who were doing something for my nextdoor neighbours who seem to have a fetish for waking me up early in the morning with naisy machinery and suchlike. Perhaps I should go over, piledrive his head into the ground and steal his wife as a trophy

Heh heh, sounds like someone else needs a good UPS, and maybe a generator to back up the UPS. :)

I did consider that, but I will be moving out soon anyway :)

Perhaps I could make my own, hehe.

I saw homemade UPSs before.... let's try and find one... ah yes:

The one I remember seeing used lead/acid car batteries. Probably not a good idea for your computer room. :)

Even if you do get a UPS, you should steal thy neighbor's wife anyway
