LAN parties are good for Spreading the Penguin

Yep.
LAN party at my school. After some hours of carnage few people started asking me about Red Hat.

I ended up burning RedHat for 6 people. They were astonished by it.
Not bad.

I definitely agree with you there, A lot of my pro-MS and anti-*nix, friends who I game/lan with were shocked by the fact that some of the main games we play (mostly HL and its mods) were even playable on Linux. Some were even more surprised by the fact that they could use programs like *gasp* IRC. gj

What am discovering is that many people just need a little push. Someone to tell them "hey its not brain surgery, anyone can do it".

I strongly believe that we as a Linux comunity are responsible for spreading the word.Partialy (in a big way) it will be our own fault if Linux fails.
There are many people out there that want to learn.
Out of the blue people were coming to me and asking me and they were serious about it. They just need help and in many cases that means some extra work from our part. Having the patience and taking them by the hand and not work under the assumption that few lines in Linux web sites How to's will help them by default.
