Before you get the ATI check out how compatible it is with Linux. If you want something that works well in both I would suggest the nVidia cards. I don't know what sort of FC1 stuff you would want to run on FC4 since FC4 comes with all the stuff FC1 came with and then some. Is there any specific package you are wondering about? I can't think of one thing, but then I use all open source software so it's not a problem. I just build a package for FC4 if need be which usually isn't needed.

Well, I'm not going to help with that one because I don't believe in the testimonial on the front page. I hope that's some bozo trying to go around my corporate restrictions. He would learn about the soup line fast and in a hurry.

I used to use (still do actually) Squid and Adzapper for that:

I find it's not needed as much using Adblock and Prefbar with Firefox/Mozilla. Really makes the browsing experience much more enjoyable.

well, Tor/Privoxy is for privacy, it uses onion servers so that only the child server can see the parent, and then it hops server to server until the destination, i like it because it adds a whole new level of privacy, without worrying about up proxies, x-name forwarding, stuff like that. oh, i de-bricked my router, finally got the original firmware onto it, so it's all good. im still thinking about putting another 3rd party firmware on it though, im not sure i'll go back to openwrt.

I understand people wanting to remain anonymous but usually those who strive for it the most are up to no good. I can't recommend any other firmware other than OpenWRT other than the stock firmware. I can only recommend against one Sveasoft out of principle.
