printing with CUPS

Postby Master of Reality » Mon Sep 05, 2005 7:37 pm

Im having a bit of trouble trying to get a printer working. (Ive never tried before today either). I started cupsd and installed the printer, but then it asked me for authorization with a username and password. Any username and password i give is apparently the wrong one. And if i just put in a username it will tell me i am not allowed access to this resource.

Is there something i need to change somewhere in the cupsd configuartion to allow people to print to it?

Where did it ask you for a password?
Were you using the http://localhost:631 interface?

If so, the User is root and the Password is the corresponding system root password.
