fixing RPM

I saw mention of this on /. today. I agree that rpm (the application) needs some "fixing". That is fix the bugs that cause database corruption and command hangs. I'm not so sure a lot of enhancement needs to be done to RPM the format. It's pretty good the way it is. I would be interested to see some of the proposed changes though and then comment further.

(3) RPM, as a file format, is good at what it does and capable of being the core of a Linux distribution. From the Fedora perspective, we are not particularly interested in making any grand deviations from it at this time.

so that's alright then!
