Main, I saw your post on Linuxtoday, and it inspired me to start urging people online to inform Google of their intention to switch search engines if Google caves in to SCO and buys a counterfeit Linux license. The email address of Google's business division is:
bizdev@google.com

Cool, great idea! I guess I'll send them a note right now. Thanks! :)

Here is the message that I just sent to the address you listed:
Subject: SCO extortion
Hopefully I have the correct address. First off let me say that you are certainly the best search engine on the Internet. I read the article about SCO attempting to extort money from you for using Linux:
http://linuxtoday.com/infrastructure/2004011000426NWCDI must say that I started using your service "because" I knew that Linux was at the heart of your business. I can't imagine that you would pay SCO off without seeing proof of their claims, and without them winning a court case over the claims, neither of which I ever expect to see happen. However, if you do pay them off just to get rid of them then I will be forced to take my business somewhere else. I will also strongly urge others to do the same. I would be very interested to hear your side of the story.

I don't know if it will do any good but I really would be interested in hearing Google's response to SCO's extortion attempt.
Thanks!

You're the first person I know of who actually followed my urging. I liked your email. It was thoughtful-- which made it a nice complement to mine. Mine was somewhat pithier :
Subject: If you give one dime to SCO, I'm switching to Yahoo!
Message: I repeat: If you give one dime to SCO, I'm switching to Yahoo!
It got the job done, but I appreciate the fact that you said everything that I would have said if I hadn't been rushing to get to work.
here is the URL of my webpage, which might be useful to anyone interested in getting the word out. It's just a simple Blogger template page, but it might save time and typing:

BTW, VOID, I like your forum, and I look forward to visiting again soon!

Not to be anal, but I was pretty sure Yahoo used Google...

Yes, YaHoo does currently use Google although I believe their contract is about up and they are going to switch away from Google when it is. I think it was about 2 years ago that they started using Google if memory serves.

Yahoo uses Google? Damn, I had no idea!
Guess I'll have to write them again. I'm certainly not going to switch to MSN!

why not use dmoz? or dogpile (except they pipe in google results amongst others)?
