Hello fellas, been a while, I know.

I have a problem with my production server. I have a box with ServerBeach. When users add subdomains, I go to SB's dns tool (I use their name servers) and enter the new subdomains. For the life of me, I cannot get the subdomains to become active.

Also, when I type http://www.denofshadows.net I get the new site. When I just type denofshadows.net I get the old one (stratics). What could be causing this? I'm running RedHat with cPanel and WHM.

Here is the zone file. I'm at my wits end.

Please tell me it's just me doing something stupid.

As you know I don't have a clue about Server Beach but I can tell you that your DNS entries appear to be correct because I do an nslookup on both and they both resolve to the same IP. I do what you are doing all the time in Apache. I usually create a virtual host with the server name definitions like so:

ServerName www.denofshadows.net
ServerAlias denofshadows.net

Now, if you have it set up like above another thing that could be causing a problem is if the server itself is resolving two different addresses for the two names. Log on directly to the server and do this:

$ host www.denofshadows.net
$ host denofshadows.net

and make sure they both return the same IP address.

Void I typed that in exactly like you wrote it and it didn't work. Am I doing something wrong?

I suppose that depends on "where" you typed it in. If you typed it in to notepad in Windows I suppose it probabaly wouldn't give you the desired effect. :) Sorry about that, just funnin. I would need to see your httpd.conf to see what the problem is. I moved this site to another machine yesterday and I didn't bring up the ftp server so you can't upload it. I'll set up the ftp server this evening so you have a place to put it and keep prying eyes off of it.
