Hi,

after a month I finaly de-brick my wrt54g.
If yours is a V 3.1 (there is a tag under the box) , take a large paper clip and short pins 5 and 6.
In my case, I shorted the pins with the router´s power on and pc power´s off. I don´t know if is necessary to turn off the pc, but I was try with the router´s power off , short pins then router´s power on unsuscessfully.

Hope this help you.

I have totally screwed up my wrt54g. It is a version 3. I tried shorting pins 5-6, pins 15-16, pins 16-17 and nothing works. Tried the PC power off - no success.

Any ideas?

Try shorting any combination of pins. Drag your metalic object across the pins immediately after power on. Be careful not to put any pressure on the pins though of you can bend them and short them out on each other. If you can't get it to respond with a ping then maybe it's really dead. Just run a wire between your metalic object (jewelers screwdriver, etc) and the metal on the antenna connector to ground to it.
