Display

Is there a quick way to modify the Display settings via command line?

My X statrs but the resolution is too high for the monitor and the display is so garbled up that I can not login to change it.

Thanks

If you have multiple resolutions configured all you should have to do is press CTRL+ALT+KPPLUS (+ on the Keypad) to cycle between the resolutions. Assuming you don't have multiple resolutions defined you can either edit the /etc/X11/xorg.conf or use the system-config-display command from runlevel 1 or 3 (not runlevel 5).
