fantasy prediction for 2007

after reading the off the wall predictions I was inspired to write a prediction I would like to see come true in 2007. I thought I would share mine here as this is one group I think will appreciate mine and agree it would be nice to see however unlikely.

Here is my wishful alternate prediction .. you would find this article as lead story on Slashdot and every other tech and non-tech news site in the world ..

"In an unprecedented development the FSF (Free Software Foundation has uncovered a loophole buried deep in the legal jargon of 2006's Agreement between Novell and Microsoft. The loophole gives Novell the right to open source ALL of Microsoft's products and code for all past, present and future products. Which Novell has done effective immediately.

A Supreme court ruling has declared that the agreement and loophole is valid and stands. As a result Microsoft has fired it's entire legal staff, Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer have died of heart attacks and Microsoft has declared "Open Source wins WE GIVE UP"

Also as a result Novell's stock price has gone thru the roof as both the Novell faithful and open source devotees celebrate in the streets. One long time faithful Novell CNE is quoted as saying "I always knew Novell would come out on top in the end.
