Upgrading to Gnome 2.2

Postby Doogee » Thu Feb 27, 2003 3:43 pm

Whats the best way to upgrade to gnome 2.2 in slackware?
Dropline???

Also is it ok that i have gnome 1.4 already installed or do i need to get rid of it before putting Gnome 2.2 on? Or at least use a different window manager while its installing?

Ideas, anyone?

Yeah I used dropline to go to 2.2.1 I agree it is really cool. Unfortunately Slackware 9.0 is out now which includes Gnome 2.2 so i may as well not have bothered downloading dropline and upgrading my slack 8.1 setup.
Oh well.

Basically it is the latest stable release of gnome optimised for slackware and packaged into .tgz's
It comes with a nice little ncurses installer/upgrader.
