Postby cdhgold » Tue Aug 11, 2009 5:00 pm

I have a linux web based app that I want to develop but i have no development skills
.
I was going to use this chance to try to learn html/php/mysql but I do not have the time..

Is there anyone that has the skills that can help me out .. would be database based app with web front end for tracking workout routines .. currently i use multiple spreadsheets but want to move to database app to make better use of the data

also would like to make it multi user as others would be interested in its use also

Do you want it to be open? List out your requirements as precisely as you can and maybe it could pick up interest. Could even be a sourceforge project if enough people are interested in doing the same thing.

yes want it be be fully open

requirements:
1) run on linux web server
2) database back end (preferably MySQL)
3) multi -user
4) be able to track following data per work out session:
exercise,
# of attempted reps,
# of attempted sets,
successful # of reps,
successful # of sets ,
weight for each rep/set,
calories burned per session
length of session in minutes

user should be able to login, enter date of workout, chose exercising from list, choose # of reps, # of sets, weight , etc..

user also should be able to query for data like how much weight was used last time bench press was done for sets of 10 as an example and print out reports based on queries

Do you have your spreadsheet laid out like you want the app to work? If so it might be useful to provide a sample copy of that.

I figured you already had a web server you could post it on. Or you could post screen captures of it. Would be best if you could design what you had in mind for an interface (what it should look like and how it should operate). I'm not saying I will do any coding on this but whoever does would want to know all these things.

No offense but it seems like over-engineering, I mean it's very doable. It's just I do this with pen and paper.
