xscreensaver

I hate the gnome-screensaver that comes out of the box with Ubuntu. I have installed xscreensaver but I am not sure how to go about disabling the gnome screensaver daemon and having xscreensavers daemon start when i login.

I'm surprised they put desktop specific implementation details in the man page. That's usually for some other document, but it's good info for sure.
