Now they want this thing with two sites on one machine (to save money on hardware) and I think I'm going for the Name Based vhosts, but I'm kinda curious about the tap interfaces, sounds kinda cool so if you got some data on it, lemme know. Maybe I'll have to use it some day or at least try it out

I always opt for named based virtual hosts whenever possible. Not exactly sure why your company would want you to use ethernet bridging in the first place, especially if they are doing something that you can get away with by simply using named based hosts. Bridging is usually used in a Xen or other virtualization environment. Either that, or dual honing NIC cards, which I am not sure anyone even does anymore.
