enable module support

Hi.

Two questions.

A) How can I "enable module support"
without recompiling the kernel - ie. leave the
current kernel intact.
Running RH 7.3 with kernel 2.4.18-24.7

B) If I DO have to do this - how will it
affect the kernel updates I do using up2date :?:
As this is a development box - I try and keep
the RH updates/errata up to date as far as possible -
about every weekend

Have to get a DC10plus card working for a client.
Seems a bit more complex than I expected :P

Any body with some tips etc. in this regard -
shall really be appreciated :!:

Tx
Caveman

PS. Am actually getting to like RH 8.0 (on the other box)
