CENT 6 / NFS

trying to setup a centos 6 server as a NFS server and the service is not starting

[root@nfs ~]# yum install nfs-utils nfs4-acl-tools portmap

Is this a clean CentOS 6 installation? Clean as in just updates and no manual hacks or anything? :P
If so I'll try to set one up and see if I get the same result.

yes clean only yum update has been run - SELinux is off

- Desktop
- Minimal Desktop
- Minimal
- Basic Server
- Database Server
- Web Server
- Virtual Host
- Software Development Workstation

the kick was from my host it is a virtual private server

Problem solved: sort of

The server in question is part of a beta program and it turned out to be a bug in the kick
