DHCP on router befsr41 and DNS on linux

Postby sparinfo » Tue May 20, 2003 9:12 pm

Hi,

I want to set my router with DHCP enabled and set my linux box to be the DNS server.

Is it possible ? Or I have to set DHCP on linux box too (and desactivated DHCP on router) ?

Thanks a lot.

You can do it either way. Just make sure that you only have one DHCP server running on your network or you'll be pulling your hair out. Also make sure to configure the DHCP server to use your Linux server's IP address for DNS when doling out the IP configuration to your clients.
